Research and strategy recommendations on the pharmaceutical sector and health sector in West and East Africa
In January 2020, AHB was contracted to perform three market studies within the healthcare sector in Africa, concerning the pharmaceutical sector and the health sector in general
Review alternatives for safe pharmaceutical production and distribution in West and East Africa by using concrete business examples from the company’s pipeline.
Perform a gap analysis of the private healthcare sector in East Africa by using one of the company’s portfolio companies as an example.
Analyze which types of companies are best equipped to address the largest gaps within the health sector in West and East Africa.
Approach and methodology AHB conducted this assignment in three different phases; the inception phase, the implementation phase and the reporting phase. Inception
The goal of the inception phase is to understand the project requirements in detail and ensure that the work plan aligns with the vision for this project and beyond through a one-day introductory meeting. Implementation
The implementation phase included desk study, market research and phone interviews and site visits for in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with relevant staff at the pharmaceutical companies as well as the private healthcare provider. Reporting
